These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of SmartVan Services by Parents, Schools, and Transportation Teams. By using our platform, you agree to abide by these Terms.

1. General Terms (Applicable to All Users)

• SmartVan provides school transportation management services including real-time tracking, notifications, secure payments, and communication tools.
• Users must provide accurate information during registration (student details, school details, driver credentials).
• Users agree not to misuse the platform for unlawful, harmful, or unauthorized purposes.
• SmartVan reserves the right to update these Terms, and continued use of the service indicates acceptance of changes.

2. For Parents

• Parents will have access only to their child’s transport data (bus location, attendance, notifications).
• Parents are responsible for keeping login credentials secure and not sharing them with others.
• Parents must ensure timely payment of transportation fees through approved channels.
• Parents must use communication tools (messaging drivers/school staff) respectfully and responsibly.
• Parents acknowledge that SmartVan is a technology platform and that the school/transport provider retains operational responsibility for buses.

3. For Schools & Administrators

• Schools are responsible for registering students and assigning transport routes within the platform.
• Schools must ensure the accuracy of student, driver, and route data uploaded to the system.
• Schools are responsible for ensuring compliance with local child protection and safety laws.
• Schools agree not to misuse collected data beyond transportation-related purposes.
• Schools acknowledge SmartVan provides software support only, while the school remains accountable for transportation operations.

4. For Transportation Teams (Drivers & Fleet Managers)

• Drivers and fleet managers must use SmartVan’s system strictly for operational purposes (tracking, route management, attendance).
• Drivers agree to operate vehicles safely and responsibly, adhering to all road and school safety regulations.
• Drivers’ performance data (speed, braking, driving behavior) will be monitored to ensure accountability.
• Fleet managers are responsible for maintaining vehicle compliance, insurance, and safety standards.
• Transportation teams must not share or misuse student or parent data.

5. Data Privacy & Security

• All user data is handled according to SmartVan’s Privacy Policy.
• Unauthorized access, sharing, or misuse of data is strictly prohibited.
• SmartVan uses encryption, role-based access, and secure cloud storage to protect sensitive information.

6. Limitations of Liability

• SmartVan is a technology enabler and does not directly operate school buses.
• The responsibility for safe operations, punctuality, and driver conduct lies with the school/transportation provider.
• SmartVan is not liable for delays, accidents, or disruptions caused by factors outside its control.

7. Termination of Use

• Violation of these Terms may result in suspension or termination of user accounts.
• Users may discontinue use at any time, subject to school/provider policies.

8. Governing Law

• These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the country/region where the service is provided.
